Controlled airflow, strict cleanroom protocols and continuously monitored environments ensure freshness and quality remain intact from arrival to dispatch. All our operations run on SAP systems and are supported by Organic, FFL, GMP, FSSC 22000, FSMA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and several other accreditations and certifications.

Plant Profile
Psoralea corylifolia, commonly known as Bakuchi, is an upright annual herb from the Fabaceae family. It usually grows between 60 and 120 cm tall. The stems are grooved and marked with small glands, which help identify the plant. Its leaves are broad and oval in shape, with uneven or slightly toothed edges. Fine white hairs cover the leaf surface, giving it a soft texture. The seeds are the most valued part of the plant. They are small, kidney-shaped, and dark brown to black in color. The surface of the seeds is rough, and they have a strong bitter and pungent taste. Psoralea corylifolia is native to tropical and subtropical parts of Asia. In India, it grows naturally in dry and semi-arid regions, especially in Rajasthan, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh.
Healthcare Perspective
In Ayurveda, Psoralea corylifolia is known as Kushtanashini, meaning “destroyer of skin diseases.” It is mainly used to balance Kapha and Vata doshas. The herb is best known for its role in managing skin conditions such as vitiligo, psoriasis, and eczema. Traditionally, the seeds undergo a purification process called Shodhana before use. They are then used both internally and externally. Pastes (lepa) and medicated oils, such as Bakuchi Taila, are applied to the skin to help stimulate natural pigmentation. Beyond skin care, Bakuchi seeds are also used for digestive support. They act as a carminative and are traditionally taken to manage intestinal worms. The herb is further valued as a tonic for supporting bone strength and for helping with respiratory conditions like asthma.
Phytochemical Composition
The activity of Psoralea corylifolia seeds comes from a strong group of natural compounds, mainly coumarins and meroterpenes. The most important of these is psoralen, a compound well known for increasing skin sensitivity to sunlight and supporting pigment formation. Other related compounds include isopsoralen and psoralidin. A key component of the seeds is bakuchiol, a meroterpene that is widely studied for its skin-renewing properties and is often compared to retinol. In addition, the seeds contain flavonoids such as bavachin and isobavachalcone, along with essential oils and resins. Together, these compounds explain the plant’s traditional use for skin health, infection control, and inflammation management.
