At our 30,000 sq. m. organic pharmaceutical cleanroom processing facility, we treat botanicals not as commodities, but as living treasures. All storage areas are maintained at optimal temperature and humidity levels to protect delicate herbal materials. Controlled airflow, strict cleanroom protocols and continuously monitored environments ensure freshness and quality remain intact from arrival to dispatch. All our operations run on SAP systems and are supported by Organic, FFL, GMP, FSSC 22000, FSMA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and several other accreditations and certifications.

Plant Profile
Kaempferia galanga is commonly known as aromatic ginger or resurrection lily. It is a low-growing perennial herb. It is distinguished by its round, glossy green leaves that spread flat against the soil. The plant is valued for its aromatic rhizomes. These rhizomes possess a sharp, peppery flavor. The strong scent is often reminiscent of camphor and pine. It is native to Southeast Asia and southern China, thriving in the tropical climates of India.
Healthcare Perspective
In traditional health systems across Asia, Kaempferia galanga is a valued medicinal plant. It is valued for its warming and aromatic properties. In Ayurveda, it is known as Sathi or Chandramoolika. The rhizome is a key ingredient in classical formulations. These include Dasamularistam and Rasnairandadi kashayam. It is typically utilized to manage respiratory issues like coughs and asthma. It is also used to support digestive health. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCHM), it is known as Shan Nai. It is categorized as a pungent and warm herb that enters the stomach meridian. It is used to promote the movement of Qi. It helps relieve abdominal cold-pain, and treat toothaches. In Southeast Asian folk medicine, it is widely used. In Indonesian Jamu tradition, the plant is locally known as Kencur. It is widely used in the ""Beras Kencur"" tonic. This tonic is used to enhance vitality and relieve headaches. Topical pastes are applied to reduce inflammation.
Phytochemical Composition
The chemical profile of Kaempferia galanga has a high concentration of aromatic esters and terpenoids. It is mainly found in essential oil and rhizome extracts. Its primary active ingredient is ethyl-p-methoxycinnamate. It often constitutes 30% to 70% of the volatile oil. It is followed by ethyl cinnamate and n-pentadecane. The plant’s spicy-camphoraceous aroma is further attributed to monoterpenoids. Including 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol), borneol, camphene, and alpha-pinene. Beyond these volatiles, the rhizome contains various bioactive phenolic acids (such as vanillic and p-hydroxybenzoic acid). It also contains flavonoids (notably kaempferol and luteolin). Unique diterpenoids known as kaemgalangols and sandaracopimaradienes are also present. These compounds are being studied for antioxidant effects. They are also researched for anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity.
