How to apply your colour
Scroll through all 17 steps for even, beautiful results — from roots to ends.
Mix the paste
Wear suitable gloves. Mix one pack of colour with four parts of lukewarm water (35–40°C) and stir to make a creamy textured paste. Part the hair.
Water temperature matters — too hot and the colour degrades, too cold and it won't mix. Aim for a consistency like thick yoghurt.
Scoop onto palms
Take an appropriate amount of organic hair colour paste onto the palms of your gloved hands.
Work with smaller portions for better control. You can always re-dip — it's harder to manage too much paste at once.
Start at the forehead
Apply the paste starting from the forehead, by directly rubbing it over the scalp.
Press firmly but gently — think of it as a scalp massage. You want paste on the scalp and roots, not just the hair surface.
Move to the crown
Gradually move the application to the top of the head. Lift hair with one hand and apply paste to the scalp and roots with the other.
Use a gentle washing motion — no pressure needed. Work section by section for thorough, even coverage.
Apply to the temples
Apply paste to the temporal region. Start from the opposite side of your dominant hand, or where you have more grey hair.
Lift hair upward with one hand and run the paste-covered hand through from root to tip, working upward.
Complete the other side
When one side is complete, apply paste to the other side using the same lifting technique.
Hair will naturally gather at the top of the head — this is normal and keeps treated sections separate.
Bend hair forward
Bend the hair gathered at the top of the head forward, toward the face.
This opens up the back of the head and prevents paste from dripping down the neck.
Apply to the back
Apply paste to the back of the head from one side, working upward from the nape.
This is the hardest area to see. Use a handheld mirror to ensure full root coverage.
Complete the back
Gradually move across to the other side of the back until all sections are fully covered.
Ensure paste reaches all the way to the roots along the entire back hairline before moving on.
Gather and twist
When all hair is covered, lift it, twist once gently to prevent liquid from dripping.
One gentle twist is enough — this keeps the paste in place and prevents mess during the waiting period.
Coat the hair ends
Apply the paste toward the hair ends with your hands.
For long hair: dip the ends directly into the mixing bowl and spread with your hands. Every strand should be fully saturated.
Bun and fix
Gather all the hair into a round shape and fix it on top of the head.
A loose bun at the crown keeps everything tidy and allows the paste to work evenly across all sections.
Brush the hairline
Apply the paste to the forehead and temporal hairlines with a brush.
A brush gives precision along the edges — the most visible areas. Work along forehead, temples, and sideburns.
Place paper towels
Place paper towels along the forehead and hairlines to prevent henna from dripping.
Paper towels also press the paste more firmly against the hairline for better coverage.
Wrap with a towel
Wrap a towel tightly around the head like a turban. Leave in this state for one hour.
The warmth of the towel helps the colour develop more evenly. Use a towel you don't mind staining.
Rinse with water
Rinse the hair with plain water until it runs completely clear.
No shampoo at this stage — plain water only. Thorough rinsing reveals the colour underneath.
Air dry naturally
Leave the hair and let it dry naturally.
Avoid heat styling immediately after. The colour deepens as the hair dries — your result reveals itself gradually.
Conduct a patch test before every application. Apply a small amount of mixed paste behind the ear 48 hours prior and check for any reaction before proceeding.
